NYA is seeking an associate to join the firm's basketball business. The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of the National Basketball Association, its players, teams, and data sources (including SportVU and Vantage Sports, in XML and/or JSON formats). Familiarity with Stata and proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (R, Python, Stata, etc) are also required. Knowledge of European and NCAA basketball, as well as expertise in data visualization and database management, are pluses.
The associate may be based in NYA's New York offices or work remotely; in the latter case, occasional travel to New York may be required. Compensation will be largely performance-based.
